Would it be a little easier to understand if it was You can only pair your claimed individual character with a certain character in one fic; because it sounds at the beginning like there is only one fic at all that is allowed to have a pairing when you claim an individual.

Now my suggestion at revision is a lot more... um... repetitive (wee, character used twice in one sentence), but I think that sentence could use revision. The paragraph itself explains it nicely, but you have to read it twice to go "Ohhh I see" sometimes. ^_^;;

Sorry to be a bother, but there's just one thing I want to double check before I write.

If I were to write using Sango and her offspring and let the reader come up with who daddy is on their own (no hints as to who he is, just that there is one) and have it focus on Sango and the offspring, that would be ok, right? As long as offspring does not appear in any other theme.

Weeeeeeell.... See, here's my dilemma: Since we're only doing the one fandom (unlike 30_kisses which used pretty much every fandom there is) I don't want to run out of characters or pairings. I'd hate to have to turn people away because some members have doubled up, y'know?

OTOH, it seems silly to be hoarding the extras for people who aren't here.

Tell you what. You claim the pairing and start writing its shards, and you can have them unless/until a new person asks for them-- I'm not going to list you as claimant in the comm info, so people know they *can* have the pairing if they want. Does that sound fair?

Works for me! I think that's fair, I will gracefully hand over the pairing if anyone wants it. The pairing is Inuyasha/Rin btw, just had the urge to do some playing around with them, thought this would be a good forum for it.

I know we're not supposed to have some one interact with the same person twice, but does mentioning them count?? I mentioned Naraku in one of them, but that was all it was; there was no romance or friendship. He wasn't even technically there. However, now I want to do a sorta-kinda pairing with him involved. Am I able to, or is it too late??

Alright I read through the questions above and the riles but I just wanted to be absoultely clear, so here's my question.

I choose Myouga as my character - but there's very little to work with as his backround is rather non-existant *unless I completely missed something* so I's like to create one for him: family, friends, frat days, ect... is this allowed as long as no character appears more than once?

Nope. That's the point of claiming-- they're yours until you're done the 30 shards, or give them up.

OK, didn't know where else to send this. Right now I have Mouya as my charcater - but he's being an impossible muse right now. He insists that finals are much more important. *Sighs* I tend to disagree, although I do see his wisdom, so until finals are over I won't be able to update anything. I remeber reading that if you didn't update a least once every two weeks we'd loose our characters unless you were informed of a good reason. I hope this is good enough. :)

Slightly off subject but I was still curious as I dind't see it in the rules.

...but I see you've made a post to publicize your new comm at dark_inu, but it's not contained within a fic post as I said it should be a few comments ago (points up). It's also clearly stated in the rules found on the comm's user info page.

If you'd like to add to your post an icon or story, or link to a story you've written that fits dark_inu's purvue (or even just rec one), that would fix everything. Otherwise, I'm going to have to ask you to delete your post. It's not fair to the comm's members-- they didn't join to be spammed, you know? Gotta make the post worth their while :)

Sorry - there was a misunderstanding. I thought you meant I could post at darkinu withou needing a story as well. As you can see I already deleated the post. Again I apoligize for my mistake. I'm not trying to upset anyone or spam my community *which I decided to delete anyways* I hope I haven't offended anyone.
Also, I'm going to have to give up Myouga - I really just can't come up with anything for him. If it's allowed, maybe I'll try again in the future when the muse returns.

No, you didn't make me feel bad. :) It was my mistake. I still like the idea for the community but I'm going to wait on it for a while - I recieved a few nasty e-mails and...well I don't need the BS. As for Myouga I'll keep trying, but if someone else comes along and wants him, feel free to give him away.

One of them claimed I was trying to "buy friends", another said I was tyring to force people to write smut *since I said all ratings/paiorings were accepted*....just crap like that. :(
They forget that I'd have been paying for this out of my pocket! It wasn't to "buy friends", it was to encourage good fan fiction. I buy books from Walden Books, Barnes and Nobles, ect, all the time - why not shell out for some really great fan fanfiction? The whole idea was to present authors with a fun, challeging contest with a nice reward at the end - like any real contest.
I guess they missed that.

I totally did not get a "buying friends" vibe from the idea, nor did I get any sort of "smut yay" agenda, just acceptance of all ratings. It's pretty weird how far these people had to stretch to come to those conclusions. I'm impressed. Not in the good way.

I'm constantly amazed at just how assholey people can be. And have you noticed that some people will go out of their way to be upset/offended/hurt over something? Sheesh.

I'm sorry to get you to explain this again, but I just want to be perfectly clear on this point before I start writing.

I can only have Jaken interact with a particular character once, right? For example, only one fic where Jaken and Sesshomaru are the focus. But can other characters make appearances (but not be the focus) in more than one fic? What I mean is, can I make a small mention of Sesshomaru in other fics?

The characters can feature as background in other fics, of course, because of how they travel together, etc. But as a relationship focus, yes, just the once.
